What has been elusive for you? The foodie in me wanted to go to this much hyped restaurant in UB city, yeah yeah you go it right 😬😬 I am talking about Farzi cafe. So where was I, ha elusive. So this is the place I have been planning for eons but it never saw fruition not cause of unavailability of a table but the stars dint favour it.
So finally a bunch of us landed there… Me with mixed feelings as the reviews from friends was not very encouraging. But hey, we were in for a treat or what? The sampler of that foam yogurt was just utterly butterly delicious, they just melt away. It had just the right hint of sweet yogurt.
Since we were 8 of us, we tried quite a bit of appetizers. I will elaborate only those that we liked.
Bombay Bhel Puri: need to give it to the chef, they do come out with creative ways of presenting our humble seda sada bhelpuri. To add drama to the dish, they serve it with nitrogen infused bhel mix on the top.

Bang Bang: As the name suggests it comes with a punch and throughly yumm. It is served in a skull shape glass. It went around the table as everyone wanted to take pictures with it and by the time it was in front of me we were ready for our next course

Tandoori Mergherita Kulcha: Beware, it’s not for the faint hearted only for serious cheese lovers. Its a heavy meal for an Individual. Its a cheese overload and I felt it needed something fresh to balance the richness. I know I sound like Gary, surely Masterchef influence.

Tandoori wild mushrooms, truffle and walnut dust: Phew this is rather a big name for a simple n humble appetiser. It comes with lots of drama. I don’t eat mushrooms but my friends really liked it.

Before we move on to the main course, they serve a frozen cleanser which has huge hints of hajmola.
Asparagus and water chestnut Kurma: For this main course alone I want to visit Farzi again. It was simply a sublime appam.

Milky way Big Bang: You want theatrics, then this dish surely fits the bill in the dessert section. When it was bought to the table we were so excited. I must say that only few of the components were enjoyable and as a dessert in total it left a weird after taste on our palate. Chef do think how you can improvise on it.

Wait wait there’s more to it, dessert was not the end of our palettes journey, Farzi had more awaiting us. They gave us this soft as a cloud candy floss and embedded within is a sweet pan. We had to have seconds of this and that’s how much we loved it.

Overall Farzi did steal our hearts and hoping to go there again. Average spend of 1750/- for a couple.
